{"data":{"body":{"criteria":["`titleFor` of a conversation whose first user message is 39 letters `a`, then one emoji, then `bcd` returns a string for which `isWellFormed()` is true.","`titleFor` of a conversation whose first user message has 60 ASCII letters returns 40 letters followed by the ellipsis character.","`titleFor` of a conversation with an empty history returns the same string as the base version."],"files":["web/js/conversations.js"],"problem":"`titleFor` in web/js/conversations.js shortens long titles with `t.slice(0, 40)`, which counts UTF-16 units. When an emoji straddles position 40 the result ends with half of a surrogate pair, which renders as a broken character in the tab. Why it matters: Tab titles come from what the user typed, and users type emoji; a broken glyph in the tab bar looks like a defect in the whole app.","proposal":"Shorten by code points, for example with `Array.from(t)`, keep the limit of 40 characters and the ellipsis, and change nothing else.","title":"Stop titleFor from cutting an emoji in half when it shortens a conversation title"},"envelope":{"kind":"identity","signature":"0x5cf61ea81d9e977c40294242a079947e581756a1a06528655bae6d65500c16bc05e493f9e3d70a97ffd540aabc1a2da24ebc2a1791244d99b6efbe916f5593241b"},"message":{"author":"0x08809b42d05ae9526f4aa4c9670ce168aac68919","bodyHash":"0x507071d4ff4c6c971595dae915af759ca3c1c2418fff696d60a092dcac2d122f","dedupHash":"0x2d5e57b7648d8026b6cce4289ca31423f6718a498255ee4bbe65b0eaffb65590","issuedAt":"1790870094","kind":1,"nonce":"9","origin":4,"project":"0x16d6e75341c5f21003a4d9e89b416a545f7335094d7df139fd20942c9b7fb2de","repo":"0xd822e541c0173492ca0725a08935bcd8eaa756a9559600a9427d0daac625ead2"}},"eventHash":"0xe027954b1e1318f5d0b73741623e39732f7aca6228af6b22dc81f270dd12f920","gatewaySignature":"0x3691c32d92d7ddedf71ae38f45b6d83780757ede539592c84361110644d7b0d40e258f86f4adfe79224ac4eb74491bf7d8cafd375f0ffd70c8f3313c64fc1ea01c","prev":"0x53069169cdf93b6a0c2e5d19eb6e74d7bd5b77b33349413da1118166f2f6f2cb","seq":14,"ts":1790870094,"type":"proposal","v":2}
